Yukine Organic Bath Towel
The squeaky clean feeling you get when you squeeze this towel in your hands is the result of our ultimate refining method, called Atozarashi, a post-weave process that eliminates starch, oils, and any impurities from the fibers, leading to a wonderfully plush finish.
Founded in Japan in 1907, SHINTO Towel leverages their experience in textile manufacturing with Japanese beauty standards to create luxuriously soft towels that are absorbent as well as featuring a unique texture. This is achieved through their utilization of Atozarashi, a post-weave process that eliminates starch, oils, and any impurities from the fibers, leading to a wonderfully plush finish.
For YUKINE, we spend twice the effort on our atozarashi, maximizing the natural absorbency of cotton to its highest potential. The clean, bleached cotton fibres rubbing against each other produce the characteristic squeaky feeling. Caring for the nature by using organic cotton, with its unique squeaky texture and color of pure white, this towel will remind you of a landscape all covered with white snow.

Wash and dry them before use. Prefer to wash with similar colors. Avoid overusing fabric softeners as it may damage the fibers and reduce absorbency. Trumble try when available. it promotes and refreshes the cotton strands and fibers thus reestablishing the natural absorption and softness of the fibers themselves. Using a low-heat tumble dry cycle or a gentle tumble drying cycle is best. Pulling or snapping the towel lengthwise while wet can cause the piles (the loops in the toweling) to stretch, resulting in gaps in the material. Handle wet towels gently.

The squeaky clean feeling you get when you squeeze this towel in your hands is the result of our ultimate refining method, called Atozarashi.
Our regional refining method Atozarashi removes starch and other natural impurities, which spoil the absorbency of cotton, through a special cleaning process after weaving.
For YUKINE, we spend twice the effort on this Atozarashi process, maximizing the natural absorbency of cotton to its highest potential. The clean, refined cotton fibres rubbing against each other produce the characteristic squeaky feeling, and the touch will become softer and tender as it goes through launderings. By using white cotton yarns for the warp and various coloured yarns for the weft, we create designs reminiscent of earth, water or fresh greens peeking out from beneath fallen snow, and we also have pure white reminding you of a landscape all covered with white snow.
