Founded in Osaka, Japan in 1907, SHINTO Towel leverages their experience in textile manufacturing with Japanese beauty standards to create luxuriously soft towels that are absorbent as well as featuring a unique texture. This is achieved through their utilization of Atozarashi, a post-weave process that eliminates starch, oils, and any impurities from the fibers, leading to a wonderfully plush finish.
A traditional 20-count weave has been given a modern twist in the Shinto 2.5-Ply Gauze Towel. Its middle layer is replaced with a unique, half-weight weave, producing an organic cotton towel that is lightweight yet substantial. With an irregular weave and a slight variation in dyes, this towel boasts a depth of color that is eye-catching. In addition, it's generously sized, making it suitable to be used as both a washcloth and an accessory.

Wash and dry them before use. Prefer to wash with similar colors. Avoid overusing fabric softeners as it may damage the fibers and reduce absorbency. Trumble try when available. it promotes and refreshes the cotton strands and fibers thus reestablishing the natural absorption and softness of the fibers themselves. Using a low-heat tumble dry cycle or a gentle tumble drying cycle is best. Pulling or snapping the towel lengthwise while wet can cause the piles (the loops in the toweling) to stretch, resulting in gaps in the material. Handle wet towels gently.

We took the middle layer of the traditional 20-count 3-ply gauze and replaced it with a 1/2-weight weave. We also utilize an irregular weave to produce a unique, exquisitely soft texture. Lighter, softer and quick to dry, and still highly absorbent, the 2.5-PLY GAUZE TOWEL comes in Medium and Large sizes, plus a longer scarf type and washcloth. We created a natural depth in colour by slightly varying the dye for the warp and weft.
